For field sales applicants
Wireless experience welcome
From wireless retail to outside fiber sales
If you have helped customers understand wireless plans, explained bills or kept accurate account records, you have experience worth discussing with Home Front's recruiting team. The opportunity here is residential fiber internet field sales.
Home Front's current role is full-time, outdoor, in-person, door-to-door sales. It is a 1099 independent-contractor, commission-only role with no base pay or guaranteed earnings. Review those terms alongside the work itself before deciding.
Connect your experience to the work
| Your experience | How it can transfer | Prepare an example |
|---|---|---|
| Explaining plans and bills | Help residents understand approved internet pricing and offer terms. | A time you clarified a customer's question without promising something the plan did not include. |
| Learning customer needs | Ask about home internet use before discussing an eligible plan. | How you listened, asked useful questions and let the customer decide. |
| Accurate account records | Record order information and use the approved process. | How you caught or corrected an error before it affected a customer. |
| Following up | Help keep the customer informed through installation follow-up. | How you tracked an unresolved question and brought it to the right person. |
| Handling concerns | Respond clearly and respectfully during doorstep conversations. | How you handled a refusal or complaint without pressuring the customer. |
Understand the field assignment
You would speak with residents door to door in assigned neighborhoods, confirm address eligibility, explain approved offers, record orders and follow up on installation. Ask recruiting to walk through an actual field day, including the manager, schedule, work area and reporting process.
Reliable transportation, a smartphone with data and U.S. work authorization are required. Discuss outdoor work requirements and any reasonable accommodation with recruiting. Your selected city records a preferred recruiting area; the actual provider, assignment, dates and written terms are confirmed separately.
Review the pay plan before making a move
A wireless job's pay structure does not carry over automatically. For Home Front, eligible commissions are paid by direct deposit on Fridays under the written plan. Earnings vary and may be zero.
- Confirm the qualifying commission event, rate and verification process.
- Read cancellation and chargeback rules, payment timing and any expense responsibilities.
- Ask about training hours and compensation, the expected schedule and any travel arrangements.
- Review the conditional performance bonus terms separately from ordinary commissions.
Read the pay and bonus details and use the offer calculator with figures from your written plan.
Bring your questions to recruiting
Previous fiber sales experience is not required. Product training and field coaching are provided. Tell recruiting what you have done in wireless retail, telecommunications or customer service, and what you need to understand before considering a field assignment.
