Understand the role, pay and bonus.
Outside Sales Representative - Fiber Internet at Home Front Solutions. Full-time, outdoor, in-person, door-to-door fiber internet sales, five days per week.
1099 independent contractor. Commission-only pay, with no base salary or guaranteed earnings.
Published by Home Front Solutions to explain its opportunity. Review the actual assignment and written compensation plan before deciding.
How commissions work
The current Home Front Careers page lists $250 per install for representatives. This is not a guaranteed weekly amount or an audited typical-earnings figure. The qualifying event, verification, adjustments and payment follow the actual written plan; earnings can be zero.
Eligible commissions are paid by direct deposit on Fridays. Your written plan sets the qualifying commission event, rates, verification, expenses, cancellations, chargebacks and payment timing.
Use the offer calculator with a rate from your actual written plan. Orders and completed installations are different milestones.
The $5,000 performance bonus
Complete your first 90 days and at least 150 completed installations within those same 90 days. The clock starts on your first field day. Both requirements must be met.
The bonus is conditional. It is not paid upfront. The written plan controls eligibility, verification, cancellation and chargeback rules, and payment timing.
How do install commissions, draws and tiered rates compare?
These are generic compensation concepts for reading an offer, not a statement that Home Front uses every model. The actual written plan sets what qualifies, the rate, the reporting period, adjustments and payment. Home Front's published disclosures do not establish a draw, tier schedule or universal chargeback window.
On small screens, scroll the table horizontally to read all three columns.
| Model | What the term generally means | What to ask for in writing |
|---|---|---|
| Direct installation commission | A stated amount for an installation or other event that meets the plan's qualifying conditions. A submitted order is not automatically payable. | Qualifying event, rate, source of verification, adjustments and payment timing. |
| Recoverable draw | An advance offset against commissions. If commissions do not cover it, a balance may carry forward under the plan. | Recovery method, balance reporting, limits, any forgiveness and treatment when the relationship ends. |
| Nonrecoverable draw | A stated minimum advance that the plan does not recoup from later commissions when earned commissions fall short, subject to its actual conditions. | Eligibility, duration, minimum conditions and how commissions above the draw are handled. |
| Retroactive tier | Once a threshold is reached, the higher rate applies to all qualifying units in the defined period under that tier rule. | Threshold, qualifying units, period boundaries and how later reversals affect the tier. |
| Marginal or nonretroactive tier | The higher rate applies only to qualifying units in the new tier; earlier units retain the earlier rate. | Exact tier boundaries, rates, period and adjustment rules. |
| Cancellation or chargeback adjustment | A change to a commission record under an agreed rule. Cancellation, installation, retained service and payable commission are different statuses. | Original order reference, reason, amount, applicable rule, source record and a review path for discrepancies. |

Reconcile the status before relying on a payment figure
Keep the original order reference, provider-confirmed status, qualifying commission event and statement adjustment together. A pending installation is not a confirmed cancellation. A completed installation is not automatically retained service, collected revenue or a payable commission. Ask recruiting or the named plan administrator to resolve a missing or disputed record.

Explore installation and 90-day milestone scenarios
Enter a scenario from written terms. This tool performs arithmetic locally; it does not predict installs, approve commissions or determine bonus eligibility. The default $250 rate comes from Home Front's current published Careers page. Confirm the actual written rate and qualifying event. Unknown amounts stay unknown.

The conditional $5,000 bonus is never added to these commission subtotals. Both the first 90 days and at least 150 completed installations within that same window are required; the written plan controls eligibility, verification, cancellations and payment.
What the work involves
- Speak with residents door to door in assigned neighborhoods.
- Confirm address eligibility and explain approved plans and pricing.
- Record accurate orders and follow up on installation.
Product and field-process training are provided. Ask recruiting about training hours and compensation before onboarding.
What to confirm before starting
- Your actual provider program, manager, work area and schedule.
- Written commission and bonus terms, expenses and any travel arrangements.
- Training, identification, property-access rules and the approved ordering process.
Field work requires reliable transportation, a smartphone with data and U.S. work authorization. Discuss the work requirements and any reasonable accommodation with recruiting.
Questions applicants ask
Do I need previous fiber sales experience?
No. Entry-level applicants and career changers are welcome. Product training is provided; confirm the current training schedule and written terms with recruiting.
Does choosing a city reserve a territory?
Your city selection records a preferred recruiting area. Home Front confirms the actual assignment, provider, dates and written terms separately before field work.
Is the bonus earned as soon as I reach 150 installations?
Both milestones apply: complete your first 90 days and at least 150 completed installations within those same 90 days. The clock starts on your first field day. The written plan governs qualification and payment.
Who handles my application?
Home Front Solutions offers this role and handles applications. Tarheel Connect and Dooriax are related sites with separate operations. Their links are affiliated references, not independent representative reviews.
Prepare for a 10-minute recruiting call.
Have your availability and time zone ready, along with the work area you would like to discuss. You can explain experience from wireless retail, telecommunications, hospitality, customer service or other work; prior fiber sales experience is not required.
- Ask which provider, approved offer, manager and work area apply to the actual assignment.
- Review the commission event, payment timing, cancellations, chargebacks and expenses.
- Confirm the schedule, training arrangements and written bonus requirements before accepting an assignment.
Choose an available recruiting-call time. Check the displayed time zone. Booking a conversation does not confirm a field assignment.
