1. Describe the problem before requesting a speed tier
Ask the front desk, operations manager and technology contact to describe what fails, where it happens and when. A room with weak wireless coverage, an overloaded meeting area and a circuit outage require different investigations. Record observations rather than labeling every complaint as insufficient internet speed.
Prepare a short use-case inventory: guest browsing and streaming, meetings, reservations, payment terminals, business voice, staff devices and other connected systems. Identify the critical functions and their owners. The technical team can use those facts to evaluate capacity, coverage and resilience; a marketing representative should not prescribe the design.
Bring available measurements and support history to the discussion. Note whether a test was wired or wireless, the location, the time and the device used. One speed test is a point-in-time observation and should not become a claim about every guest room or the entire service.
2. Confirm the approval route for the property
Map the people involved before scheduling a proposal presentation. The general manager may sponsor the review; the owner may approve spending; a management group may manage contracts; and a brand may have technology standards or an approved procurement process. Ask the property which of those roles applies.
Document the existing agreement's renewal or termination checkpoint, the entity that signs a replacement and the requested completion window. A site contact's interest does not establish purchasing authority. If the project is part of a renovation, clarify how the connectivity work depends on construction access and the broader opening schedule.
3. Qualify the business product at the exact address
Give the provider the correct property address, building identifiers and proposed handoff location. Confirm that the product being evaluated is suitable for the property's intended use. A residential eligibility result should not be reused as a business service commitment.
AT&T publicly presents Business Fiber and Dedicated Internet as different products. When comparing providers, ask each seller to identify the actual service, its commercial terms, the installation scope and the support arrangement. Avoid assuming that a fiber connection automatically includes a dedicated service, a managed local network or a particular service-level commitment.
Keep research evidence separate from the order record. A provider's public availability page can support initial qualification, but a final proposal may depend on a site survey or other delivery review. Record who can confirm that dependency and when the result is expected.
4. Prepare a site walk for the technical team
Arrange access with a property employee who knows the building. Prepare floor plans if available, the location of the current communications equipment and a list of spaces that require service. Include guest floors, lobby, meeting rooms, back office and any other relevant buildings.
Cisco Meraki's hospitality design guidance notes that building materials affect wireless coverage and that a site survey can help assess it. Treat a circuit installation and a wireless survey as separate tasks unless the proposal explicitly combines them. The receiving engineer or integrator should define the survey method and design requirements.
- Incoming service: proposed entry, demarcation or handoff point, power and equipment space.
- Building network: existing cabling, switches, access points and any known documentation gaps.
- Guest experience: rooms or shared areas with reported problems and typical occupancy patterns.
- Operations: business systems, support contacts and periods when disruption is least workable.
- Access: keys, escorts, occupied-room restrictions and approval for any proposed work.
5. Discuss guest access and business operations separately
Ask the network owner how guest access is separated from business systems and who manages that configuration. AT&T Business Wi-Fi describes public and private network options; the property should have its own technical team confirm the design and operating responsibilities appropriate to its systems.
Agree who controls guest login behavior, access credentials, administrative accounts and changes after installation. Do not place passwords, payment data or guest records into a marketing form. Use the property's approved secure process for technical information.
An internet circuit quote is also an opportunity to ask about support boundaries. If a guest cannot connect, who tests the local wireless network? If the incoming circuit is down, who opens the provider ticket? The front desk needs a usable escalation path rather than several vendors each assuming another team owns the problem.
6. Write the cutover and acceptance plan
Name the person who can authorize the change and the technical lead who can restore the previous arrangement if the cutover cannot be completed. Ask whether the project requires overlapping service, temporary arrangements or a maintenance window. The proposal should identify those responsibilities and any associated costs.
Define acceptance checks around the agreed scope. A circuit provider can confirm its handoff; an integrator can validate the local network; and the property can confirm that the agreed business functions and guest access work through the new arrangement. One team's completed task should not be treated as acceptance of another team's work.
Retain the final service references, equipment ownership details, support numbers, escalation contacts and approved documentation. Schedule a review after normal property activity has resumed so unresolved issues have a named owner.
7. Keep the sales handoff and delivery report aligned
Track the same property from discovery through proposal, accepted order, installation and property acceptance. Record the source and date for each confirmed stage. Keep a pending survey or delayed decision visible rather than promoting it to a completed sale.
Home Front Solutions reviews hospitality field marketing programs involving prospecting, qualification and appointment handoffs. Network design, installation and ongoing support require a separately identified delivery scope. Bring the property cohort, approved product, procurement route and technical receiving owner when discussing a program.
Questions buyers ask
Will a faster fiber circuit fix weak Wi-Fi in guest rooms?
The incoming circuit and the wireless network inside the property need separate assessment. Ask the technical team to identify whether the observed issue concerns circuit capacity, local coverage, equipment, configuration or another cause before choosing a remedy.
Who should attend a hotel connectivity discovery call?
Include the property sponsor, the technology owner and the person who can explain procurement authority. Bring in the provider or integrator when discussing qualification, surveys, design or delivery.
What should a field marketing team hand to the technical team?
A confirmed property contact, business need, approval route, exact address, requested timeline, current qualification state and agreed next action. Share technical credentials and customer records only through the approved secure delivery process.

For carrier sales team owners
Master-agent program: teams of five or more.
Home Front Solutions offers a master-agent program for teams across carriers. The program rate is $400 per confirmed installation or activation, with a minimum team of five people.
Confirm the carrier, product, market, validation process, payment timing and cancellation or reversal terms in the written agreement. This program rate describes the master-agent business offer; individual representative pay is set separately.
